Immitracker & Canadian Immigration Updates, May 2023

Over the past couple of weeks, a lot has continued to change in the Canadian immigration space and at Immitracker as well! A summary of the changes can be found below:

  1. The IRCC strike ended on May 1st after lasting a little bit over a week

    • According to the Immigration Minister, around 100,000 applications were impacted due to the work being stopped

    • The IRCC website states that although service has resumed, there might still be some impact to returning to full capacity over the next few days or weeks

  2. Express Entry draws continue, a couple happened since April 26th

    • In the 11th draw held at the end of April, 3,500 candidates were invited in a general Express Entry draw with a cutoff score of 483

    • A 12th, PNP specific draw was held on May 10th with only 589 candidates being invited with a cutoff score of 691
