Launching the My Immigrant Story Podcast — Episode 1 Live This Week!

Immitracker is excited to introduce the My Immigrant Story podcast.

Every week we interview a first generation Canadian immigrant tech professional or entrepreneur and learn about how they first discovered Canada, immigrated to the country, and set themselves up for success professionally. We also uncover what are some of the main pieces of advice they have for newcomer professionals looking to build their career in Canada.

Our first guest is Ron Johnson! Ron is an educator at heart, connector in spirit and a problem-solver by passion. He is an international best-selling author, entrepreneur, podcast host and startup founder. Ron is currently building a safe and supportive startup ecosystem for professionals and students entering Canada through the Wisen Up! Podcast and platform. The Wisen Up! Podcast focuses on speaking with successful Canadian immigrant professionals from various backgrounds and learning more about how they came to the country and established themselves and flourished in their careers.

In this episode, we learn about Ron’s immigration story: how he heard about Canada through his relatives and went through the skilled worker immigration process back in 2007. When talking about his career and what he believes helped him be successful, Ron focuses on the importance of networking and having a growth mindset. He also mentions his passion for climbing the corporate ladder and how taking well-timed and strategic breaks in his career helped him go further.
